In charge of the Supra Space Advancement Program, Nidoletta Day discovers subspace topological derangement, which demonizes her to the point of extinction. Infringing upon establishment ideals, her colleagues want her dead or exiled. In fear for her life, she built Crashnick, a spatial refuge outside earth. There she agreed to a two-way estrangement, to exile.
When a string of storms and earthquakes ravages earth some time later, they suspect it is due to either her earlier sub-spatial experimentation or her modern doing. And determined to get through to her, it is going to take hell, toil, and trouble to bridge the spatial divide in Crashnick if they ever can.
