The Cross-World Settlement Natari takes to Earth again and this time, they are armed with an incision artifact which surgically implants a neural network complex for memory cells capable of making natural memory cells quiescent and responsive to an introduced compliant antigen. When found, the victims cannot tell of the plight, extreme change in personality or of the heaviness of what was taken.And when Deborah Lelan jugs David Bentley’s memory of her, he reckons it without a doubt; the artifact or something like it was making average citizens everyday slaves and he’ll need her help to stop it.
There is a new breed of armed bank robbers in town neither law nor God are able to catch. And the modus operandi of the Bank robbing crew makes it apparent the robberies are not the usual kind. It is another Transverse mission Deborah Lelan can not refuse. The thieves are using a Transverse cross-world weapon , a critical point deflector, CPD,to simulate a trance state implementing a woman in residual disintegrating space as a diversionary tactic with one hundred percent success rate. And to stop the seeming perpetual theft, she must locate the de-originating inflection point and destroy its de-localizing effect completely.
