On sociability – #5Bonhoeffer

We note further that people who have isolated themselves from others or who live in solitude manifest this defect less frequently than individuals or groups of people inclined or condemned to sociability—Bonhoeffer

I bet stupid people dont go around thinking they are a menace to others unlike them. Or especially to society. Sociability is a perpetually external virus, virulent and ingrained in its conditioning, like some form of docile insanity.

As an introverted solitude-loving pseudo-sociable person, there is no manner of speaking or doing that could condemn me to sociability. I couldn’t know how anyone can be condemned by it. But there is no doubt in my mind I have witnessed this great stupidity defect Bonhoeffer speaks of in them. Thus, my readers, is it reasonable to conclude communism, if not to speak of other political projections of its like, is a great defect? Or are the abstract projections of such more political than social?

It should be apparent that this defect is present in capitalism as well—as commerce forces people to be sociable. Less frequently so because capitalism also forces competition? And under duress, for competitive advantage and privilege, this great defect may raise its extremely monstrous head?

Group-think is an ego affliction detached from any viable rational source. It never pronounces itself out loudly. But it is in every group-certified distinct and solemn individual directive to conform to some unspoken prejudicial code—the failure to rationalize or resolve an actionable-dilemma made on behalf of a group’s social belief system. It is something virulent and cancerous eating away at the very fiber of intellect and conscience—a stream of projected collective consciousness that is the gravely caricature of irrationality and imbecility.

It is time to ask the questions. How far are you embedded within the docile insanity? How gravely are you condemned to sociability?

When I realized comedy can be described as the things I say and do as well as the things I don’t say and do, I knew it was for me. I was seeing and hearing all kinds of shit that couldn’t be happening in the dreams and the nightmare we call society. I believe they call that crazy. You don’t need any proof. Someone just has to appear to have more potential at succeeding than you and you can make shit up about them. Better than that, you can plot to make them what you say they are. There’s always a ridicule am yet to encounter and the punches just keep coming. It is no miracle I survived. I am now more than qualified to tell comedically twisted true tales as a part of the jazz music festival, half time music. half time comedy. it is hilarious. In fact it is now a comedic-jazz music festival. Your receipts for music by ril and the free books for life cause mean the world to me. Help achieve justice.

Stupidity, malice and evil

Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed—in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical—and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack.

—Bonhoeffer

I wanted to revisit Bonhoeffer’s words recently. I feel compelled, although I have discussed these words in this philosophical series before. I often stray from using the word “conscience” in reference to others. I have once erroneously assumed most ordinary people have it. I have been proven wrong. In the signs of the times, I see most people will choose to be numb to it.

But what Bonhoeffer discourses in that first sentence is unshakeable. When you have that, which it is and it is always there, appeal to reason can fall by the wayside. Evil has a distinctive way of demeaning the evil doer even if this fact is easily concealed. Evil has a way of demeaning the evil doer. Every action has its repercussions on trails. And the path of evil is a path of great unease. However much there may be cover-up actions sustaining the ill-reality of the harm done for the cover. Unease knows variance for degrees. But to find this absent must define the natural reality of psychopathy.

The great unease is like the cumulation of snow or formation of icy surfaces from snowfall. Its critical angle against a plane is imaginary, ill-reputable and delusional. Its up-going is a drag. And its basal reality is unsafe, a sham.

To say stupidity has a defense is to state a redundancy disease. The stupid person refuses to admit the realistic state of affairs. In fact, may choose to fully adopt ill-reality. The fact that there is an alternate good possible of being chosen is the root of the germination defining the state of humanity in the evil-doer. The subversion is the human condition, however damaged or flawed.

It is important that I add to Bonhoeffer’s exploration of the difference between stupidity and maliciousness. He is missing something important here.

Stupidity is ultimately subjective or on the behalf of a subjective-group objective, that is, it owns a subjective cause but may extend a group clause, a group imperative. It is, from this view, a lack. Stupidity or malice, whichever derives the other, or a combination of both, ceaselessly seek validation against the lack through the objective, that is, the group classification enabling the stupidity-state to sustain.

The dissociation from this lack is extended as some kind of superficial power enabled for instance by science and engineering in cases of war as it must be that what’s evil is evil in war and peace, or perspective of position or status in localizable differentials. The possession of this power outside the limits of that merely rational or reasonable, is stupidity.

The states of stupidity, malice and evil can become so meshed that the subjective definition for distinction becomes blurred. And they may be perceived as one and the same. In times when evil or harm may be provoked or deserved and the sense and sets of entitled actions has neither scope nor limit, the harm done achieves all three—stupidity, malice and evil.

When I realized comedy can be described as the things I say and do as well as the things I don’t say and do, I knew it was for me. I was seeing and hearing all kinds of shit that couldn’t be happening in the dreams and the nightmare we call society. I believe they call that crazy. You don’t need any proof. Stupidity and Malice—#2Bonhoeffer

Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. — Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Malice stems from envy or great enmity based on particularity, peculiarity or contrasts. And this can be very dangerous. I fear envy more than I fear the insane. Insanity is unpredictable. But malice is sometimes not easily decipherable or easily exposed. It may sometimes absorb itself in its own destructive reasoning or narcissistic agenda. There is malice aforethought, harm by design, premeditated, deliberate, in cold blood.

Envy, as well as malice aforethought are great evils, great enemies of the good. They too, cannot be prevented by the use of force. They can be exposed. They can be protested. However, are they less dangerous than stupidity? Are we not otherwise defenseless against malice aforethought? Must we not do everything we can to protect the afflicted? To provide justice where justice is deserved?

This sense of unease he speaks of, how does it permeate? That the evil have the inkling thought they are evil? That the infection ravages every material cell of the infected? This unease—is it airborne and effective upon the infected and the victim?

Is it like a rattlesnake with its rattle locked against its head and in its head, rattleheaded, rattlebrained, whistling yap yap, rat-tat-tat symphonies of self-hating havoc of poisonous nothing—a point has two sides, its head to its tail by my feet? Or is it the unbrained rattlesnakemaster by my feet, never annual, angiospermous, never ligneous?

Where does one protest the rattle? By its tail? By its head much the same, helpless in its rattle tales and insipient rattling actions?

Stupidity is a mass grave immersed in its own self-appointing induction. Like the neural pathway—from head to tail, it ignites itself. Blameless? Is Bonhoeffer giving excuses for stupid people from an empathetic point of view? Is there some way to discern, design defenses against stupid people? They are in numbers and multitude, after all, the single most catastrophic source of human misery, evil harm and calamity.

When I realized comedy can be described as the things I say and do as well as the things I don’t say and do, I knew it was for me. I was seeing and hearing all kinds of shit that couldn’t be happening in the dreams and the nightmare we call society. I believe they call that crazy. You don’t need any proof. Heroism — #1Bonhoeffer

Death is the ultimate price to pay for heroism. There is no action more esteemable over this inaction. There is no provable estimation , no realistic expectation for it. To go to your death with the conviction in the good you are doing relates to a moment of great spirituality no real words can convey.

A hero is never born. But those who master situations of great peril with strength and conviction in the power of love and great dedication to decency and dignity have a place in my thoughts and heart forever. There need never be an after life or a flimsy celebratory state. There is great power in the spiritual heart. To stand up for what is decent and dignified, to love what is hated, to voice the most unpopular of opinion in the most dangerous of times is to be divine without merit. It is simply beyond the fleeting material heart. A hero through and true, who couldn’t be brought back to life, resurrected for a material purpose but died as a true, realistic and scientific evidence of what he was—that subtle existence of great essential power.

He would in his days and worse off nowadays be celebrated as stupid— those who cannot save themselves for the purposes of material life must live in the stupidest of states—the regressing evolutionary state towards the ultimate evolution of the spirit. Everything superficial and superfluous is celebrated nowadays—the regression of the human spirit. In collaboration with every good spirit in this world and every good spirit that ever lived, I celebrate the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
