So, once again, the US has gone to war in the Middle East on the back of a lie, on disputed, probably faulty intelligence purposefully distorted for political reasons. Once again, as in Iraq in 2003, the overall objectives of the war are unclear, uncertain and open to interpretation by friend and foe alike. Once again, there appears to be no “exit strategy”, no guardrails against escalation and no plan for what happens next. Demanding that Iran capitulate or face “national tragedy” is not a policy. It’s a deadly dead-end…
Trump’s decision to renege on the 2015 nuclear accord (negotiated by Barack Obama, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China and the EU) was a product of this ignorance. Ten years later, he is trying to do with bombs what was largely, peacefully achieved through diplomacy by his wiser, less impulsive, less easily led predecesso.
No doubt it was a deadly trap and look at the shit now. It is not a show of strength but of weakness. There are many types of war, the worst is one which has nothing to do with you. The second is the tacit and unpredictable reaction. This is bullshit. What the hell could a “win” be here? Clearly Trump advisers are not like Obama’s and the Bush’s. Something bad seems to be happening to this amazing country. Lack of DEI is a terminal disease. Diplomacy, the very essence of intelligent relations with others, is dying. Greater is not happening. I smell decay. My readers, trust someone who truly knows what abject near death experience is, and knows what life is on the fringes. I smell decay.

When I realized comedy can be described as the things I say and do as well as the things I don’t say and do, I knew it was for me.
