My readers, it is shameful and alarming that I just met Bonhoeffer. In my studies, I have met lots of authors in philosophy, literature, psychology, mathematics, physics and more. Yet I did not meet Bonhoeffer until now. We will be discussing his short essay on stupidity in short burst blog entries on my site with category “philosophical discussion ams” and tag “philosophy”. I will attach his short essay marked by me for emphasis on some points he made in this blog if you want to read it. I do not agree with some of the things in this essay, but I agree absolutely on this instance: we have to discuss stupidity. I thought maybe he wasn’t made more recognizable because of his reference to God in this instance. God is often as great incentive for great stupidity for instance. A great many Christians are racists and Nazis. Real heroes are extremely hard to find and we choose our heroes according to our aims, hopes and aspirations. A German Lutheran pastor who was hung in the concentration camps in World War II, I just met a hero. But I have met stupidity and evil in great platitude my readers.
